Seed Treatment and Responsible Use

Seed growth is a prerequisite to successful crop establishment and high yields. Biotic and abiotic stresses are challenging factors that may delay or hamper seed germination and compromise its fitness. Seed treatment comprises one of the most effective methods to enhance and support seed germination, combating faced stresses and enabling healthy crop emergence and development.

Seed treatment constitutes an integral part of crop protection and refers to the application of chemical substances and/or biological organisms to seeds intended for agricultural use to combat or repel plant pathogens, insects, nematodes or other pests that can be harmful to seeds, seedlings or developing plants. Product label should be followed thoroughly for the safe handling of treated seeds.

Stewardship of Biodiversity and Soil Health
Natural habitats bear inherent complexity, so protecting and promoting their health is fundamental for sustainable and productive agriculture. It is crucial to implement practical measures in agricultural landscapes both in- and off-field to foster biodiversity and soil health.
Resistance Management
Resistance is a basic survival mechanism and occurs through natural selection. All farmers, regardless of their production system (organic, conventional, biotech), are challenged with the simple fact that every pest control method has a limited life span because pests naturally evolve and become resistant.
