Tirexor® Active Herbicide: Controlling Herbicide-Resistant Weeds
Tirexor active herbicide is the foundation for flexible control of herbicide-resistant weeds. Tirexor’s active ingredient, trifludimoxazin, is a new class of protoporphyrinogen IX oxidase (PPO) inhibitors for residual and post burndown control of broadleaf weeds. As a highly complementary and compatible mixing partner, it provides durable residual activity and strong performance on weeds with low-use rates. Tirexor can be used on corn, soybeans, cereals, peanuts, citrus, tree nuts and vegetation management. When mixed with other herbicides, it provides a wide spectrum of broadleaf weed control and far greater activity on grasses. It also is available as Voraxor® herbicide.
Key Features and Benefits of Tirexor®
Features
- Strong performance on key and herbicide-resistant weeds with low-use rates
- Durable residual activity
- Unique site of action for optimal control of resistant biotypes
Benefits
- With strong residual activity, key weeds are kept from emerging through those critical weed-free periods
- Flexible enough for use on multiple crops
- Highly complementary and compatible mixing partner providing ease of use for growers
Mode of Action
Tirexor herbicide is a new class of protoporphyrinogen IX oxidase (PPO) inhibitors that blocks a key step in chlorophyll biosynthesis leading to rapid necrosis of sensitive weed species. Tirexor herbicide has been designed to bind more tightly to the PPO enzyme, allowing it to potently control more weed species — even those currently resistant to other PPO inhibitors. These features provide better overall performance of the molecule. This potent new herbicide has dual functionality providing both preplant burndown and residual control of top weed issues.
