BASF Agricultural Solutions plans to change production network of glufosinate-ammonium

BASF plans to cease production of the active ingredient glufosinate-ammonium (GA) at the Knapsack and Frankfurt sites in Germany by the end of 2024 due to economic reasons. The GA formulation in Frankfurt will end in 2025. Subsequently, both production facilities will be shut down. Glufosinate-ammonium remains a key component of BASF’s global herbicide portfolio.

Eurofins Agro Testing and trinamiX collaborate to optimize feed efficiency

LUDWIGSHAFEN, Germany, Wageningen, Netherlands, June 26, 2024 – Eurofins Agro Testing Wageningen, a renowned laboratory specializing in forage, feed, soil, water, manure and compost analysis has announced an international collaboration with trinamiX to optimize forage analyses without the need to send samples to a laboratory. 
ONE SMART SPRAY’s precision weed management system enables Stara’s Imperador 4000 Eco Spray to apply herbicide in pre-emergence and post-emergence conditions.

BASF and Solidaridad team up to empower Brazilian farmers to foster biodiversity

BASF and Solidaridad have partnered to understand how sustainable farming activities can have an increased effect on biodiversity, environmental conservation and the coexistence of agriculture and pollinators like bees. The project will be conducted within a network of small to mid-sized soybean farmers in Brazil. The partners will be supported by two organizations: GeoApis, to monitor managed bees and facilitate communication between farmers and beekeepers, and Wheatley Young Partners, to assess the feasibility of a nature-market in Brazil, where farmers are paid to deliver and maintain environmental service projects on their land. The first phase of the project started in January 2024 and is set to run for twelve months.

The current photo: Groundbreaking ceremony in Ludwigshafen: New fermentation plant for crop protection products

BASF has broken ground on the new fermentation plant for biological and biotechnology-based crop protection products in Ludwigshafen. The plant is expected to go into operation in the second half of 2025 and will manufacture biological fungicides and biological seed treatment products.
